Scottish Water – Distribution Operations Maintenance Strategy (DOMS)

About the Scheme

Scottish Water’s Distribution Operations Maintenance Strategy (DOMS) scheme is a Bespoke Programme owned by Scottish Water for individuals working on Scottish Water sites; registrations for the scheme are held on EUSR.

The DOMS scheme was introduced to support a consistent approach across the Scottish Water region in safeguarding the water quality reaching customers and has resulted in a reduction of problems affecting water quality such as discolouration, microbiological failures and issues with taste and odours.  DOMS builds upon Energy & Utility Skills’ National Water Hygiene scheme – which is a pre-requisite for registration on this scheme.

An appropriate DOMS registration is required for all individuals working on water distribution activities within the Scottish Water region. This includes, but is not limited to, all Scottish Water and Scottish Water Solutions operational personnel, contractors, consultants, delivery partners, framework suppliers and self-lay organisations.

The scheme consists of 13 modules dealing with different aspects of the distribution, operations and maintenance of the water supply.

Questions relating to which modules are required for specific tasks must be directed to Scottish Water on telephone: 0131 445 6330 (ext 56330) or via email. For any interim questions, contact skillsacademy@scottishwater.co.uk

Registration on EUSR for Scottish Water DOMS

Individuals training for DOMS must hold a National Water Hygiene registration before a Scottish Water DOMS card can be issued.  EUSR registration is gained after successful completion of a training programme and assessment.
