Manual Handling Awareness
About Manual Handling
The Manual Handling Awareness scheme is designed to equip individuals with the necessary knowledge to safely transport or support loads using hand or bodily force. This includes tasks such as lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, moving, or carrying loads.
With approximately 17% of employee injuries occurring during manual handling activities, this scheme emphasises the importance of understanding the associated risks and implementing proactive measures to mitigate them.
Developed in alignment with the HSE Manual Handling Approved Code of Practice, the scheme has undergone thorough reviews involving employers and stakeholders, particularly within the energy and utilities sector.
Successful completion of the training and EUSR devised assessment results in an EUSR registration for the individual in the following category:
- Manual Handling Awareness
Training and assessments are delivered by approved EUSR training providers, this ensures that individuals received high quality training and assessments.
Registration on EUSR
Registration on EUSR is valid for three years following successful completion of training and assessment on a training programme approved by EUSR.
Endorsed Training Programmes
As of 4 October 2024, we will no longer endorse any training programmes in the subject area of Manual Handling.
All registrations for EUSR will only be processed against our scheme after this date.
