Update on GDPR for Individuals
The new EU wide General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect on 25 May 2018. It replaces the current Data Protection Act 1998 and applies to all organisations regardless of size. GDPR extends and strengthens the rights of individuals.
Here at Energy & Utility Skills we have been working to ensure we are compliant and we are implementing a number of changes. What this means for individuals holding an EUSR registration is set out below.
Personal information required for an EUSR registration
From 25th May, we will collect the following personal information to process an EUSR registration: First name, last name, date of birth, employer name, email address, photograph, any scheme specific documentation or evidence required. We are deleting other personal information we have collected in the past.
Register search
The advanced register search fields are being updated to remove the option of using a national insurance number. Please carry your EUSR Photo ID card with you so that your unique ID number can be used to support any searches for your registration.
Privacy notice
We have a new privacy notice which replace our current privacy policy. This privacy notice details further the personal information we collect and process, the reasons for processing, who we share personal information with and how long we keep personal information.
This has been uploaded to our website and can be found here.
