The number of training programmes we’ve endorsed at Energy & Environment Awards has more than tripled in a year, following improvements to the endorsement process and increased awareness of the service. During 2025 – 2026, we completed 78 Endorsed Training Programmes (ETPs), compared with 25 in 2024 – 2025, representing a 212% year-on-year increase. This follows 22 completed endorsements in 2023 – 2024, highlighting the significant growth in uptake over the past two years.
The increase follows changes we introduced to simplify the endorsement process, making it easier for organisations to have their training programmes independently reviewed and recognised. Alongside increased marketing activity, these improvements have helped drive more engagement with the service, including repeat customers returning to have additional programmes endorsed.
The Value of Independent Endorsement
For organisations delivering their own training, demonstrating its quality and relevance is an important part of building confidence among employers, learners and other stakeholders. Our Endorsed Training Programme (ETP) service provides independent recognition for training developed by organisations, helping them demonstrate that their programmes have been reviewed against established criteria.
Unlike regulated qualifications, which must meet specific regulatory requirements, endorsed programmes offer organisations an opportunity to gain independent recognition for training developed to meet their own operational or industry needs. This can be particularly valuable for those delivering specialist or bespoke training, where an existing regulated qualification may not be appropriate. Endorsement provides an additional level of assurance, helping organisations demonstrate their commitment to delivering relevant, high-quality training while strengthening the credibility of their offering.
Supporting Quality Training Across the Sector
The increase in ETPs comes alongside wider growth across our approval services, including Training Programme Approvals and Provider Approvals. While these services serve different purposes, the growth reflects an increase in the number of organisations engaging with our processes for reviewing and recognising training provision.
As the energy and utilities sector continues to evolve, the quality and relevance of training remain important to developing the skills needed both now and in the future. Through our endorsement service, we aim to support organisations in demonstrating the value of their training while making the process of gaining independent recognition as straightforward as possible.
Whether you’ve developed a new training programme or want to gain independent recognition for an existing one, our Endorsed Training Programme service can help demonstrate its quality and credibility.
