You are required to hold in-date EUSR registrations for SCO Core, Form of Authority, Permit to Work (AE), Non-Routine Operations, Routine Operations, and the relevant Health & Safety – SHEA Gas. We will check these on EUSR, so you do not need to provide any evidence.
You must also be employed by a Gas Distribution Network organisation or a Gas Transportation/independent Gas Transportation business. You will be required to upload evidence from your Employer in order to apply for EUSR registration for Authorising Engineer – Gas.

Evidence requirements
Individuals/Employers are required to provide one of the following pieces of evidence:
- A colour photograph or colour scanned image of the original Authorising Engineer certificate issued by the Employer
- A letter confirming the appointment/role as an Authorising Engineer – on headed paper and signed by the organisations appointed Responsible Engineer
- An email confirming the appointment/role as an Authorising Engineer – from the employers’ business email address, approved by the organisations appointed Responsible Engineer
Individuals are required to submit the evidence with every registration application to ensure the timely processing of registration applications.
All individuals must hold valid EUSR registrations for the following Safe Control of Operations (SCO) categories:
- SCO Core
- SCO Permit to Work (PtW) (AE)
- SCO Non-Routine Operations (NRO)
- SCO Routine Operations (RO)
- SCO Form of Authority
All individuals must also hold valid EUSR registration for SHEA Gas.
Renewal registration is valid for five years. An individual may be re-registered for Authorising Engineer – Gas where the required certificate/evidence is submitted and verified and the pre-requisite requirements have been met.
To access your new virtual card, your EUSR record must include your mobile number, which is why we request it on the Registration Form.
You will only receive your card once the Application Form has been received and verified.

Some employers may also pay £3 for an additional plastic smart card. You must provide a mobile number to receive an SMS message with a unique registration and PIN number to access your virtual card.
