You need to hold an in-date EUSR SHEA Power registration before you can be awarded an EUSR Overhead Linesperson registration which carries the CSCS logo. We will check this on EUSR, so you do not need to provide any evidence. This application form can be used to obtain a new EUSR Overhead Linesperson registration or to renew an existing one.

The EUSR Overhead Linesperson Scheme is for individuals who work as an overhead linesperson within the power sector.

Individuals are required to hold an original Qualification or Apprenticeship certificate. Alternatively, Individuals will need to submit all three pieces of required evidence under the NERS scheme or evidence of DNO authorisation.

Individuals are required to submit their certificate(s) with every registration application to ensure the timely processing of registration applications.

Qualification or Apprenticeship certificate:

If an individual holds a qualification or apprenticeship, they will need to submit an original certificate and unit certificates (where required)

  • Power Network Crafts Person Cable Jointer Apprenticeship OR
  • Power Industry Distribution Cable Jointer Apprenticeship OR
  • City & Guilds Certificate in Electrical Power Engineering Overhead Lines SCQF Level 5 SCQF Level 5 (Scottish Modern Apprenticeship in Power Distribution OR
  • EEA Level 3 Certificate / Diploma for Overhead Tower Linesperson Erector (can only be registered on Overhead Linesperson Transmission category)

Alternatively, individuals must hold one of the following, issued by a DNO 

  • MDSR (Model Distribution Safety Rules) Competent Person company authorisation certificate OR
  • MDSR (Model Distribution Safety Rules) Authorised Person company authorisation certificate OR
  • MDSR (Model Distribution Safety Rules) Senior Authorised Person company authorisation certificate

OR

If applying via the NERS scheme, individuals will need to submit evidence of:

  • NERS Certificate of Competence AND
  • Employing organisation’s in-date NERS certificate AND
  • Letter confirming the appointment/role as an Assessing Officer

Registration on EUSR is gained when the required certificate evidence has been submitted and verified.

Individuals must hold a valid EUSR registration for SHEA Power.

Renewing an Overhead Linesperson EUSR registration

EUSR Registration Renewal 

Renewal registration is valid for three years is valid for three years. An individual may be re-registered for Overhead Linesperson where the required evidence is submitted and verified.

To access your new virtual card, your EUSR record must include your mobile number, which is why we request it on the Registration Form.

You will only receive your card once the Application Form has been received and verified.
