You need to hold an in-date EUSR SHEA Core, Power or Gas registration before you can be awarded an EUSR Smart Meter Installer registration which carries the CSCS logo. We will check this on EUSR, so you do not need to provide any evidence.
This application form can be used to obtain a new EUSR Smart Meter Installer registration or to renew an existing one

- Registration lasts for 3 years and can be renewed.
- Registered individuals will receive a Blue CSCS card showing their approved categories on the back.
To register, an individual will need to submit proof of qualifications and assessments. This includes:
- Colour photo or scan of original certificates
- NSAP National Assessment Specification (NAS) documents
For Electricity Categories:
- In date SHEA Core or SHEA Power
- Copy of employer’s company CoMCoP Certificate
- Copy of individual’s CoMCoP company authorisation
PLUS one of the following
- City & Guilds- Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering – Power (RQF) and NSAP National Assessment Specification (NAS) (for appropriate registration category)
OR
- LCL Awards Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering – Power (RQF) and NSAP National Assessment Specification (NAS) (for appropriate registration category)
OR
- BPEC – Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering – Power (RQF) and NSAP National Assessment Specification (NAS) (for appropriate registration category)
OR
- EUSR Smart Metering scheme NSAP National Assessment Specification (NAS) (for appropriate registration category)
For Gas Categories:
- In date SHEA Core or SHEA Gas
- Copy of in date Gas Safe card (front and back with valid meters category)
PLUS one of the following
- City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering – Gas (RQF) and NSAP National Assessment Specification (NAS) (for appropriate registration category)
OR
- LCL Awards Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering – Gas (RQF) and NSAP National Assessment Specification (NAS) (for appropriate registration category)
OR
- BPEC Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering – Gas (RQF) and NSAP National Assessment Specification (NAS) (for appropriate registration category)
OR
- EUSR Smart metering scheme NSAP National Assessment Specification (NAS) (for appropriate registration category)
For Dual Fuel (Electricity & Gas):
- In date SHEA Core, SHEA Power or SHEA Gas
- Copy of employer’s company CoMCoP Certificate
- Copy of individual’s company CoMCoP authorisation
- Copy of in date Gas Safe card (front and back with valid meters category)
PLUS one of the following
- Dual Fuel Smart Meter Installer (Electricity & Gas) Apprenticeship (Level 2) and NSAP National Assessment Specification (NAS) (for appropriate registration category) NAS Gas and NAS Electricity
OR
- City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering – Dual Fuel (RQF) and NSAP National Assessment Specification (NAS) (for appropriate registration category) NAS Gas and NAS Electricity
OR
- LCL Awards Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering – Dual Fuel (RQF) and NSAP National Assessment Specification (NAS) (for appropriate registration category) NAS Gas and NAS Electricity
OR
- BPEC Level 2 Diploma in Smart Metering – Dual Fuel (RQF) and NSAP National Assessment Specification (NAS) (for appropriate registration category) NAS Gas and NAS Electricity
OR
- EUSR Smart metering scheme NSAP National Assessment Specification (NAS) (for appropriate registration category – Gas and Electricity) NAS Gas and NAS Electricity
To renew your Smart Meter Installer registration, an Individual will need to:
- Complete the relevant NAS assessment through an approved provider
- Have an in date SHEA (Core, Gas or Power)
- Submit updated evidence, including:
- Qualification or apprenticeship certificate
- NAS certificate or signed NAS document for appropriate registration category
- In date Gas Safe card (if applicable)
- Copy of employer’s company CoMCoP Certificate – Electricity and/or Gas
- Copy of individual’s individual CoMCoP company authorisation – Electricity
To access your new virtual card, your EUSR record must include your mobile number, which is why we request it on the Registration Form.
You will only receive your card once the Application Form has been received and verified.

All new EUSR registrations now come with a virtual card by default, which makes checking the card quicker and more secure on site and reduces the plastic we all use. Some employers may also pay £3 for an additional plastic smart card. You must provide a mobile number to receive an SMS message with a unique registration and PIN number to access your virtual card.
