What is the COSHH Awareness Scheme?

This COSHH Awareness Scheme is designed to help employers fulfil their legal duty of care under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002. It ensures that Individuals understand the COSHH Regulations and requirements including the employer’s responsibility to control substances that are hazardous to health. It covers the risks associated with hazardous substances which employees are likely to come into contact within the workplace and provides guidance on appropriate control measures.   

By completing this scheme, Individuals will be equipped with the knowledge and understanding of the laws and Regulations relating to hazardous substances in the workplace; how risk assessments contribute to the safe use of hazardous substances in the workplace and the precautions and procedures necessary to ensure that risks associated with hazardous substances are properly controlled. 

Delivery Model

Training and assessments are delivered by approved EUSR training providers, this ensures that individuals received high quality training and assessments.

Assessment

 The assessment involves a multiple-choice test consisting of 20 questions set by EUSR and marked by the Approved Trainer

Registration

Registration on EUSR is valid for three years following successful completion of training and assessment on a training programme approved by EUSR.

Renewal

To renew an EUSR registration, individuals need to show ongoing compliance with the scheme’s specifications. This involves repeating the training program and undergoing an assessment by an EUSR Approved Provider within an EUSR approved COSHH Awareness Scheme training program.
