What is the PLUS Instructor Scheme?
The PLUS Instructor Scheme is for individuals who are required to deliver Plant for Utilities Scheme (PLUS) training programmes. It supports the consistent training, testing and assessment of individuals delivering PLUS programmes across the utilities sector.
Delivery Model
The PLUS Instructor programme may be delivered through either a full instructor programme or, where appropriate, a bridging programme.
Full PLUS Instructor Programme
The full programme is for individuals who need to complete the full PLUS Instructor Training Standard. The guided learning hours for delivery of the full instructor programme are 70 hours.
Bridging Programme
A bridging programme may be delivered for individuals who have already completed an instructor programme from a regulated awarding organisation or another recognised organisation, such as NPORS or AITT, and who wish to gain PLUS Instructor registration. The guided learning hours for the bridging programme are 35 hours.
Assessment
Individuals must successfully complete both theory and practical assessment requirements to gain PLUS Instructor registration.
Registration
EUSR registration for PLUS Instructor is for five years from the date of completion.
Renewal
To renew an EUSR PLUS Instructor registration, individuals must demonstrate continuing compliance with the relevant scheme category specification.
As part of renewal, the individual must deliver both theory and practical training while being observed and assessed by an assessor within the approved provider. The individual must be observed against, and meet, all assessment criteria within the standard.
